Marc’s Sales Philosophy
“I always strive to educate my customers on some aspect of my products so they have greater confidence in their purchase and themselves when it comes to selling the product to their customers. Whether it is a story about the vineyard, winemaker, appellation, a family story, brewery, the brewmaster or styles of the wines or beers, it gives my buyers the information they need to feel more comfortable when talking about the product.”
Prior to starting Bottle & Brew Selections, Marc spent 20 years working with wine and beer in restaurants, private clubs, retail and distribution in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. He was responsible for buying wine and beer, managing wine programs, conducting wine tastings, hosting wine and craft beer dinners and training employees on how to market and sell wine and beers.
As Sommelier at fine dining restaurants, such as the Oregon Grille in Hunt Valley, MD, Le Bec Fin in Philadelphia, PA and Old Guard House Inn in Gladwynne, PA. Marc's accomplishments resulted in a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2004. In 2001, while serving as Director of Member Dining Services and Sommelier at the University and Whist Club in Wilmington, DE, the club was awarded Best of Delaware – Best Private Fine Dining.
Marc’s knowledge and passion for his product range have assisted many establishments over the years to develop exclusive, award-winning product ranges of their own. His wealth of experience has provided the foundation for establishing the first-class distributorship that is Bottle & Brew Selections.
